Dr. Paul Bronold knew from the age of 12 that he was called to care for animals. After experiencing the heartbreak of his own puppy falling seriously ill with parvovirus, he spent days at the veterinary hospital, watching the dedicated team work tirelessly to save his dog. That experience left a lasting impact-and inspired his lifelong passion for helping sick and injured animals.
A proud graduate of Auburn University’s College of Veterinary Medicine, Dr. Bronold feels blessed to use the skills and compassion he believes were gifted to him by God to make a meaningful difference in the lives of pets and their families every day. Since taking over Pet Wellness Animal Hospital from Dr. Colbert in 2020, he has remained committed to delivering exceptional care rooted in kindness, integrity, and trust.
Beyond the exam room, Dr. Bronold is an active advocate for animal welfare. He currently serves on the board of the West Alabama Humane Society, where he is helping lead the development of a new adoption and medical facility. This center will provide essential veterinary care and a safe haven for animals on their journey to finding loving, forever homes.
When he’s not at the clinic, you can often find Dr. Bronold enjoying time on the water-whether it’s surfing, wakeboarding, or participating in just about any water sport.
